TAR Technique

The medical surgeons have arrived at a new technique with respect to the treatment of ventral hernias. There is the new TAR (Transversus Abdominis Muscle Release) technique which was given a lot of importance at the World Hernia meeting.

 

The entire TAR Technique was explained in detail by the famous Michael Rosen, MD, professor of surgery and medical director working at Cleveland Clinic Foundation Comprehensive Hernia Center during the World Conference 2015 on Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery in Milan, Italy.

Bone Wax Launch

Dolphin Sutures has recently launched bone wax under the brand name Waxocare. Bone wax has been launched to supplement the cardiovascular product range where bone wax is mainly used in cardio-thoracic surgery for sternal closure.

 

Waxocare is made from a combination of beeswax, paraffin wax and iso propyl palmitate and is sterilized by Gamma Radiation.

 

Bone wax has been launched with a unit pack of 2.5 gms and is available in a pack size of 12 units.

Slug Glue Eyed As Alternative For Sutures

 

Using stitches to bind skin together seems so primitive. Why not use a special slug glue that sticks to skin? Biologists working on that medical technology now think they could make surgical sutures and staples relics from the past.

 

 

A number of scientists are currently studying the different kinds of natural adhesives produced by mussels, snails, worms, insects and other living things. Ithaca College biology professor Andrew Smith and his students are carefully collecting slug secretions in an effort to create an effective adhesive derived from it.
