Petcryl Plus

Petcryl Plus is a sterile absorbable suture composed of Polyglactin 910. The suture is coated with Triclosan to impart antibacterial property and prevent Surgical Site Infections thereby increasing patients safety. This suture is the most widely used coated and braided synthetic absorbable suture in the world. On account of its superior properties this suture has replaced catgut sutures in most applications.

- Petcryl Plus suture is a synthetic, coated and braided absorbable antibacterial suture with an additional triclosan coating to prevent Surgical Site Infections.
- Petcryl Plus sutures are available from U.S.P. size 2 to size 5-0.
- Petcryl Plus sutures are composed of copolymers made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide.
- Petcryl Plus sutures are coated with equal parts of copolymer of lactide and glactide with calcium stearate.
Advantages
- Petcryl Plus suture is specially coated with Poly (glycolide-Co-L-lactide) to create a smoother suture to pass through the tissue easily. Further, since the suture is undyed & violet, it is easily visible during suturing.
