Mesh Tacker
TACKSURE Mesh Tacker is a sterile, single-use laparoscopic and open-surgery device for fixing surgical mesh to soft tissue during hernia repair, available with titanium helical or absorbable polyglactin fasteners.
01
Two fastener configurations
Available with non-absorbable titanium helical tacks that remain in situ or absorbable screw-shaped polyglactin (PGLA) tacks, letting fastener type be matched to clinical need.
02
Consistent fastener deployment
The device delivers a fastener with each activation, supporting predictable, controlled fixation of surgical mesh to underlying soft tissue during the procedure.
03
Laparoscopic and open use
Designed for both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures, the 5 mm instrument with a 350 mm shaft suits common hernia repair techniques.
04
Broad mesh compatibility
Compatible with a range of surgical meshes, including single-layer and composite or dual-layer types, as well as synthetic and biologic mesh materials.
05
Ergonomic control
An ergonomic housing and responsive trigger mechanism support accurate fastener placement at chosen fixation points, helping the surgeon operate with precision and control.
06
Sterile, single-use device
Supplied sterile and preloaded for single-patient use, helping reduce tissue trauma when used correctly and streamlining preparation in the operating room.
What the Mesh Tacker Is
The TACKSURE Mesh Tacker is a sterile, single-use device intended for fixation of surgical mesh to soft tissue. It is used during laparoscopic or open surgical procedures, particularly in hernia repair, to attach mesh materials to the abdominal wall or other tissue structures. The device is preloaded with surgical fasteners to facilitate tissue fixation with minimal trauma when used correctly, and it is intended for single-patient use only.
Composition and Construction
The device is constructed from medical-grade polymer and medical-grade stainless steel, with fasteners made of titanium helical tacks and/or polyglactin tacks. This lets TACKSURE be offered in two fastener configurations: a non-absorbable variant with titanised helical fixators that remain in situ unless removal is clinically indicated, and an absorbable variant using screw-shaped polyglactin (PGLA) tacks. Device materials in tissue contact are biocompatible and suitable for their intended use.
Handling and Performance
TACKSURE delivers one fastener per activation, so the surgeon places each fastener deliberately rather than counting on a feed. The housing and trigger put that placement under hand control, and each fastener anchors the mesh mechanically at the point chosen. The device is compatible with a range of surgical meshes, including single-layer and composite or dual-layer types, and suits both laparoscopic and open approaches. Approved indications, and any limits on mesh type, are stated in the instructions for use.
Presentations
TACKSURE is supplied as a disposable 5 mm instrument with a 350 mm shaft length. Configurations include 20 or 30 titanised helical fixators, or 30 absorbable PGLA fixators, allowing fastener type and count to be matched to the mesh, anatomy, and surgical technique.
