Semi Absorbable Composite Mesh

Monosolve V2 is a sterile, semi absorbable composite hernia mesh combining non-absorbable polypropylene with absorbable poliglecaprone 25, supplied as flat sheets for open and laparoscopic inguinal, ventral and incisional hernia repair.

CEISO 13485Sterile, single use
Semi Absorbable Composite Mesh
Semi Absorbable Composite Mesh

01

Semi absorbable composite

Combines non-absorbable polypropylene, intended to provide lasting reinforcement, with absorbable poliglecaprone 25, so that less permanent material remains in situ once the absorbable component has resorbed.

02

Absorbable component resorbs in 90–120 days

The poliglecaprone 25 component is fully absorbed within approximately 90 to 120 days, leaving the polypropylene component in place for lasting support.

03

Lightweight construction

A lightweight construction intended to reduce the amount of implanted material and to support conformability with surrounding tissue.

04

Durable and flexible

The polypropylene component is intended to provide durable structural support, while the construction is designed for flexibility in handling and positioning during surgery.

05

Flat sheet in a range of sizes

Supplied as a flat sheet in rectangular and square sizes from 6 × 11 cm to 30 × 30 cm to suit a range of repairs.

06

Sterile single-use prosthesis

Supplied sterile for single use, for open and laparoscopic inguinal, ventral and incisional hernia repair.

What Monosolve V2 Mesh Is

Monosolve V2 is a sterile, semi absorbable composite mesh designed for hernia repair. It combines a non-absorbable and an absorbable component in a flat sheet intended to reinforce and support weakened tissue in inguinal, ventral and incisional hernia repair, in both open and laparoscopic approaches. Monosolve V2 is intended for use by a qualified surgeon trained in mesh implantation and the relevant surgical techniques.

Composition and Construction

Monosolve V2 is a composite of non-absorbable polypropylene and absorbable poliglecaprone 25. The polypropylene component is intended to provide lasting reinforcement and support for the repair, while the poliglecaprone 25 component is gradually resorbed by the body and is fully absorbed within approximately 90 to 120 days, so that less permanent material remains in situ over time. It is supplied as a flat sheet in a range of rectangular and square sizes.

Characteristics and Handling

Monosolve V2 has a lightweight construction intended to reduce the amount of implanted material and to support conformability with surrounding tissue, while the polypropylene component is intended to provide durable structural support. Selection of size, orientation and fixation method is at the discretion of the surgeon, based on the patient’s condition, the type and location of the defect, and operative requirements. Monosolve V2 can be fixed with sutures or tackers. Published research on composite and semi absorbable mesh systems describes the rationale for combining non-absorbable polypropylene with an absorbable polymer such as poliglecaprone; this relates to the mesh category in general and is not presented as a claim of clinical performance for this device.

Applications

Monosolve V2 is designed for use in:

  • Inguinal hernia repair
  • Ventral hernia repair
  • Incisional hernia repair
  • Open and laparoscopic soft-tissue reinforcement

Contact Sales
What is Monosolve V2 mesh made of?
Monosolve V2 is a composite of non-absorbable polypropylene and absorbable poliglecaprone 25. The polypropylene component is intended to provide lasting reinforcement, while the poliglecaprone 25 component is gradually resorbed after the early healing period.
What does "semi absorbable" mean?
Semi absorbable — also described as partially absorbable — means part of the mesh is absorbable and part is not. The poliglecaprone 25 component is fully absorbed within approximately 90 to 120 days, leaving the non-absorbable polypropylene in place for lasting support, so that less permanent material remains in situ over time.
How is Monosolve V2 different from Monosolve V2 3D?
Both share the same semi absorbable polypropylene and poliglecaprone 25 composition. Monosolve V2 is a flat sheet supplied in rectangular and square sizes, while Monosolve V2 3D is pre-shaped into a three-dimensional anatomical form for laparoscopic inguinal repair.
What sizes are available?
Monosolve V2 is available in rectangular sizes of 6 × 11 cm, 8 × 15 cm, 10 × 15 cm and 15 × 20 cm, and square sizes of 15 × 15 cm and 30 × 30 cm. Refer to the ordering table for codes and dimensions.
How is the mesh fixed?
Monosolve V2 can be fixed with sutures or tackers, at the discretion of the operating surgeon based on the procedure and surgical technique.
Is Monosolve V2 supplied sterile?
Yes. Monosolve V2 is supplied sterile for single use and must not be reused, reprocessed or re-sterilized. Do not use if the package is opened, damaged or beyond its stated expiry date.
