Futura Medtech announced on 28 April 2026 that it has made a strategic investment in Rivarp Medical, a Bengaluru-based manufacturer of medical devices and implants. It is the third investment under the Futura Medtech platform. Dolphin Sutures was the second, in October 2024.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Who Rivarp Medical are
The announcement describes Rivarp Medical as a manufacturer founded in 2016, working across orthopaedics, neurosurgery and interventional cardiology, with in-house manufacturing and international regulatory approvals including EU MDR and US FDA certification. It says the company distributes in India and internationally through more than 100 channel partners, and describes it as one of the leading spinal implant manufacturers in India.
That is a different part of the operating theatre from ours. Rivarp make implants — devices that stay in the body as structure. We make wound closure: sutures, mesh, staplers and clips. The two ranges meet the same surgeons and the same hospital supply chains without competing for the same line on a purchase order.

What it means for Dolphin Sutures
Nothing changes about the products, the codes or the people you deal with. Dolphin Sutures continues to be manufactured by Futura Surgicare Pvt Ltd in Bangalore, to the same specifications, under the same approvals. Ordering, documentation and support are unaffected.
What changes is the shape of the group around us. A platform with three manufacturers can reach further into distribution and invest more in manufacturing than any one of them could alone — which is the stated reasoning behind the investment, and the part worth watching over the next few years.
